Valuing identities and communicating them to the outside world: museums for ‘majorities and minorities’ is the title of the international conference organised by the Museum Ladin Ciastel de Tor on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of its inauguration, to be held on 23 and 24 June 2016 at the Istitut Ladin in San Martino in Badia. The central theme will be linguistic minorities and their museums as an opportunity to promote and safeguard their cultural heritage. Numerous experts and experts from the museum sector are scheduled to speak, including the President of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) Hans Martin Hinz, and cultural representatives of European linguistic minorities. The conference is supported by the FUEN (Federal Union of European Nationalities) and will take place in conjunction with the Europeada 2016 (DEU), the football championship of European minorities organised by the FUEN between 18 and 26 June in Val Pusteria and Val Badia.
